EATING DISORDERS

Eating disorders are not about food — they are about pain, overwhelm, protection, and survival. I help women understand the emotional, neurological, and physiological patterns that drive bingeing, restricting, emotional eating, body shame, and chronic dieting. Together we work gently with the nervous system, trauma history, grief, medical crises, autoimmune issues, and the internal parts that carry fear or unworthiness. My integrative approach blends counseling, somatic work, hypnotherapy, and nervous-system regulation to help you reclaim safety, balance, and a healthier relationship with food and your body.

You are not alone. And you are not too far gone. Help starts here.

Frequently asked questions

Below are the questions most people have before reaching out for help with binge eating, bulimia, compulsive overeating, emotional eating, GLP-1 (Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro) weight regain, or post-bariatric relapse. You’re not alone — these fears and questions are very common.

1. “Is this going to be like a diet program?”

No. My approach is not a diet, weight-loss plan, calorie plan, or restrictive program.

Many of my clients have been hurt by: dieting weight-loss programs restriction nutrition rules pressure or shame

What I offer is entirely different: a clinical, trauma-informed, mind-body approach that treats the emotional, subconscious, and nervous-system layers behind your eating patterns.

2. “Will I be judged for how I eat?”

Absolutely not. This is the #1 fear people have before contacting me.

People worry I will think they’re: weak out of control disgusting failing “the worst case you’ve ever seen”

The truth is: Your eating patterns make perfect sense based on what you’ve lived through. You will never be judged here. You are safe.

3. “Do I have to talk about things I’m not ready to talk about?”

No. We move at your pace, not mine.

You will never be forced to: share trauma before you’re ready talk about something overwhelming revisit memories that feel unsafe

Safety and pacing are the foundation of this work.

4. “How do you treat binge eating or bulimia? What’s your approach?”

My approach blends clinical therapy with mind-body and subconscious healing including:

Clinical Hypnosis Brainspotting Internal Family Systems (IFS) Somatic & Polyvagal Regulation RN-level metabolic & hormonal insight Behavioral and habit change

This combination helps you calm binge urges, heal emotional triggers, change subconscious patterns, and rebuild stability from the inside out.

5. “Does this work if I’ve tried everything and nothing helped?”

Yes — these are the people I help most.

Most clients come to me after trying: therapy diets Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro bariatric surgery willpower books and self-help support groups

Your brain and body can heal — even if nothing has worked before.

6. “How quickly will I start to feel better?”

Most people feel relief within the first few sessions because we target: binge urges emotional overwhelm shame nervous system tension

This isn’t magic, and it takes time, but people usually feel something shifting early on — which builds hope.

7. “What do sessions look like?”

Sessions are designed to be emotionally safe, calming, and structured.

Depending on your needs, we may use: talking therapy hypnosis brainspotting somatic grounding parts work (IFS) behavioral rewiring

You will never be pushed or overwhelmed. You’ll always know what’s happening.

8. “Do you take insurance?”

I am a private-pay provider. However, I can offer:

Superbills (if your plan reimburses for LPC services) HSA/FSA payment Flexible scheduling options

Many clients prefer private pay for privacy and flexibility.

9. “How much does it cost?”

Rates vary depending on service type. I offer:

individual sessions hypnosis sessions brainspotting sessions specialized eating-disorder care

You will receive full pricing information before scheduling.

10. “Do you work with GLP-1 regain or bariatric relapse?”

Yes — this is one of my specialties.

Clients often ask: “Why did I regain all the weight?” “Why did I start bingeing again?” “Can this be fixed?”

Yes. GLP-1 medications and bariatric surgery do not heal the emotional, hormonal, or subconscious patterns behind eating. My program does.

11. “What if I’m too embarrassed to talk about my eating?”

This is one of the most common concerns.

Please know: You won’t shock me You won’t be judged You won’t be shamed You won’t be pushed

This is a safe, compassionate environment.

12. “Can you help if I also have trauma or anxiety?”

Yes — most clients with eating disorders do.

I treat: trauma neglect shame loneliness panic emotional overwhelm

Your eating makes sense when we understand these layers.

13. “Is this confidential?”

Yes — fully confidential.

People often fear: a partner finding out someone judging them being “exposed”

This is not a diet. This is healing.

Your privacy is protected at every step.

14. “Will you tell me what I can or can’t eat?”

No. I am not a dietitian and I do not prescribe meal plans.

I currently work primarily with adults. However, I am pursuing training in ARFID and sensory-based eating challenges for future services.

I help you: regulate your emotions calm your nervous system reduce binge urges build internal stability heal subconscious patterns

15. “Do you work with children or teens?”

My primary focus is adults, but I am currently expanding my training to work with children and teens who struggle with eating disorders through the Alfred’s (A-FREDS) program. As I continue this specialized education, I offer support to families and young clients on a limited basis, always ensuring care is developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and aligned with best practices for pediatric eating-disorder treatment.
